Karen has welcomed the government’s announcement of an extra £2 million to Westminster Council this month through the Local Authority Business Growth scheme. This scheme is designed to help local councils promote economic growth in their areas

Business growth is good for jobs and that is in turn good for our local communities- so long as every effort is made to give our local people a chance to get those jobs.

Westminster must also make sure that it supports economic growth in smaller neighbourhoods, such as Church Street and Harrow Road. The Council must strengthen partnerships with small traders and boost their chances of success by improving the environment, tackling crime and anti-social behaviour, and finding practical solutions to problems such as that facing Harrow Road Post Office.
