Immigrants who do not have their own accommodation should be deterred from applying entry or even refused entry. Wesimply cannot accommodate everyone. A bigger issue which is affecting our hospitals is the lack of affordable residences for hospital and teaching staff. In my opinion the government should be encouraged to build apartment blocks within easy travel of hospitals and schools for these members of staff. In the good old days, there were hostels for nurses;these seem to have disappeared - these people are more important to the country those simply seeking a better way off life. Perhaps when this country is back on its feet - then we can consider better accommodation for others.
