Chancellor Gordon Brown was joined by fellow Ministers Beverley Hughes, Ed Miliband and Ed Balls on a visit to the Stowe Club on Harrow Road yesterday. The visit was to meet groups of young people from a number of youth clubs based at the Stowe Club itself and others from around the country. All of the youngsters in attendance had taken part in a national consultation as part of the government’s public spending review into youth provision. Gordon Brown spoke to the participants with local MP Karen Buck; both were delighted to see how involved they had each been in the consultation. Karen Buck said, “It was great to see so many young people involved in the political process. They really cared about the subjects they were dealing with and knew first hand the issues that government needs to focus on, it was so refreshing.”
